Policies and Complaints

The Round Rock ISD police department thoroughly, objectively, and expeditiously investigates all complaints concerning its employees’ personal behavior or official acts.

Any person who believes they were unfairly treated, stopped, searched, inappropriately ticketed, or arrested may file a complaint. No person will be discouraged, intimidated, discriminated against, or coerced from filing such a complaint.

Filing Complaints

All complaints against a police officer must be made in writing and signed by the person making the complaint. A parent or guardian should sign the complaint if the complainant is under 18.

Round Rock ISD police department accepts complaints prepared on the official Complaint Form English | Declaración Jurada de Queja Formal – Spanish. The form must be signed and turned in to the Round Rock ISD police department, located at the Round Rock ISD Lillie Delgado Administration Building 1311 Round Rock Ave., in Round Rock, weekdays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Chief of Police reviews all complaints and then assigns the complaint to an investigator. Anonymous complaints will be investigated. After the investigation, the Chief of Police reviews the investigator’s recommendation and determines the complaint’s final disposition.

Notification to the complainant about the final disposition of the investigation is by mail.

Formal Complaint Affidavit

The Round Rock ISD Police Department is receptive to all complaints involving Department personnel. Persons wishing to make a formal complaint against a Department member must submit this completed affidavit. A written signature is required.
